What a great field trip to Washington, DC – Visiting the Smithsonian Museums! There is so much to see and experience with this kind of educational trip; students can walk around and get up close to important pieces of history.

The most popular museum is the Air and Space Museum, which houses the famous rockets and airplanes that we read about in the history books – you can see many of the components and parts that made the space flight program and NASA work… literally taking our astronauts to the moon and back.

There is an IMAX theatre inside the air and space museum, which features daily showings and films on space history and more.

Many schools travel from all over the United States to Washington DC every year. Without question, Washington DC field trips are very popular indeed. Why though? What’s so big about DC?

There are so many important things about DC that relate directly to educational travel, we just don’t have room to list all of it here.

Most of the field trips we offer include stops to some of the various museums that the Smithsonian has, as these museums are the “gold standard” for what a school class trip should have. The Smithsonian is not only important for the artifacts and exhibits, but this is important with respect to cost too!

Many (if not all) of the Smithsonian’s Museums and Art Galleries are free, which means that there is no cost to entry or admissions fees. As field trip budgets go, this is an important factor when choosing a field trip destination.
